I’ve started a petition to The Online Television Network (TOLN)/Prospect Park advocating that the network rerun episodes of Port Charles and consider reviving it as a miniseries with Michael Easton as Caleb:
http://www.petitiononline.com/aapc2011/petition.html
Please sign and feel free to share it. I’ll be sending a letter to The Online Television Network tomorrow. It would be great if others would write letters to The Online Television Network expressing support for Port Charles.
The address to write to is as follows:

A friend sent me a link to this site, which includes Caleb in its top ten list of vampires:
http://popconfidential.zap2it.com/2011/10/04/got-blood-10-fictional-vampires-wed-offer-our-necks-to
In case you can’t access the link for some reason, here’s the picture and text of the Caleb portion of the article:

“There’s just something about a vampire that turns us on. Maybe it’s the allure of the whole immortality thing, or simply knowing that hooking up with one could result in you getting the most awesome hickey of your life — that is if you’d live to tweet and/or Facebook the tale! Here are 10 Pop Culture Vampires we’d readily let have a taste.
10.) Caleb Morley, Port Charles
Way back in 2001, you know Pre-Twilight days, struggling ABC daytime soap opera Port Charles decided to ditch the medical-based storylines of the sudser it spun off from, General Hospital, in favor of limited-run arcs that were much more akin to another ABC daytime drama — Dark Shadows.
- Vampires descended on Port Charles in the arc “Tainted Love” and the town was never the same. Thanks in large part to the smoldering, psychosexual love story between fanger Caleb Morley (Michael Easton) and Livvie Locke (Kelly Monaco), PC began generating much needed buzz — if not ratings. The character of Caleb proved so popular the show kept bringing him back from the dead over and over again. Okay, so you don’t necessarily have to be a vampire for that to happen in soaps, but at least for once we got a plausible explanation! While going all gothic telenovela style didn’t save Port Charles from cancellation, it definitely gave us one of the sexiest vampires in pop culture history.”

Because of the sad news regarding One Life to Live’s cancellation, I
thought maybe we could send messages of our support for
Michael. We could, as a group, write about our treasured memories of
Michael’s ABC characters, John McBain (and possibly also Caleb Morley). Also, you could mention your ideal
role for Michael Easton in the future. I will collect these messages,
print them out, and send them (with your name, if you wish) to Michael.
Let’s try to get these done by April 25th.
So here’s the structure I had in mind:
Message of support for Michael, including what you will remember or what
you love about his characters John McBain (can also include Caleb
Morley). Try to include both, if possible. Then you can say what role
you would like to see him in for the future–it can be something you
would see as his ideal role.
We want to keep these messages positive, of course. You can post the messages here or send it to me via e-mail: akaains@horrorvacui.us

Birthday projects to celebrate Michael Easton’s birthday Feb. 15, 2011:
1. Donation to the American Cancer Society:
In celebration of Michael Easton’s birthday, Feb. 15, I am joining with others in the 2011 Michael Easton Birthday Fundraiser
(initiated by Lori Avila ) to raise money for one of Michael’s favorite charities, the American Cancer Society.
Click here to view the TEAM page for 2011 Michael Easton Birthday Fundraiser

2. Michael’s birthday project gifting copies of his Soul Stealer books to libraries for his 2/15/11 birthday gift (project initiated by Tina Payne, with her description of it, as follows:
“Michael’s Soul Stealer trilogy is now on sale for $33 total. One book is $23 total. Again this year, we are getting fans of his to join together buying 1, 2, or 3 Soul Stealer Books for his birthday to take or mail to an accepting public or university library. Last year we picked some key libraries like Michael’s alma mater, his birth town, his book release town, or one near to our own heart where we wanted Michael’s work. I will copy the list below as well as Michael’s public response.
Just go order your desired books at : Artemis Publishing: Soul Stealer 3
www.artemisperfecteditions.com
If you want to deliver them yourself to your chosen library, just order, take them, and let me know you did. My email address is tedpayne@msn.com. If you don’t want to deliver or mail them to a library yourself, you may put my home address as your ship to address and I will gladly deliver them to the great libraries in my area as I did last year and got receipts and photos for the fans who had me donate theirs. I’d rather you order them, but if you would rather I do it, just let me know what you want. The trilogy set is on sale $33 with shipping, add $1 for the Paypal, so it’s $34 for me to get them for you; and 1 book is $20 + shipping +$1 for Paypal so $24 for me to get one for you. For $10 more dollars, you can get 2 more books! Fans can go in together, you can combine funds to get the trilogy with the books being $11 each, and add a buck for Paypal. Last year a book costs us $27+ with shipping, so it is much more affordable this year and that would help more of us be able to do it. Also, they appear to be out of hard cover copies.
Please review last year’s gift and library list and let us know asap if you are participating. Michael’s 2-15-2011 birthday is only a month away so we need to move quickly on this. If you donated SS1 last year, you can donate SS2 this year, if you did SS1 and SS2 last year, you can donate SS3 this year or just send the whole set of 3 for $33-$34. Please let me know asap if you plan to participate. Thanks!
