In response, Caleb throws another telekinetic punch at Jack, landing him against the wall. Slowly stalking his fallen opponent, Caleb looks at Jack hungrily, his face a beatific vision of the saintly
and the sensual. "We've got tricks that haven't made the movies yet. And Olivia loves me."
"You brainwash a woman and call it love," Jack answers.

"Call it what you want," Caleb smirks. "You know she came to me . . . on her own. And she wanted me. [He licks his lips suggestively.] But I . . . sent her home . . . this time. . . Because I'm in no rush. Once you're gone she'll be mine for eternity. All her love."

"You can't know what that word means," Jack rebukes him. "You have no soul, Caleb. What Livvie and I have is real."

"Oh, I'll show you 'real,'" Caleb taunts.

"The hell you will," Jack boasts. As Caleb approaches, Jack throws a telekinetic punch of his own, hurling Caleb across the room and into a broken crate. "You're not the only one with surprises. I'm not as
strong as you yet. But I will be soon."
Looking surprised and trying to regain his arrogant composure, Caleb claps his hands in mock appreciation of Jack's emerging
powers. "You're a talented boy. Very talented. [He slowly approaches Jack and then suddenly grasps Jack's neck tightly between
his hands.] "How does your last breath taste, little man?" he hisses. He growls and groans as he squeezes with all his might, his body shaking with fury and bloodlust.
As Jack starts to lose consciousness he has a memory of Livvie in the church, her lying on the pew while he kisses her. Revitalized by this vision of love, Jack manages to loosen Caleb's grip and retaliate. He now has his arms around Caleb's throat, the two men throttling each other and trembling with murderous desires.

"You're getting stronger," Caleb gasps. "Must be feeding somehow."

"Feeding and getting stronger," Jack sputters in reply. "Getting
strong enough to kill you, you sick bastard."

As Caleb growls in animal rage, his eyes and those of Jack flash
red. The dim golden light of the church basement now seethes with infernal intensity.

"Kill me?" Caleb snarls. "I'm going to rip you open and drink you
dry. This time you'll stay buried." Again he bares his fangs.

But just as he is ready to plunge them into Jack's throat, Livvie
calls out Jack's name and Caleb disappears. Discovering Jack,
alone, in the basement, Livvie tells him their retreat is "creeping"
her out, and they decide to return home.
The episode ends with a vision of Caleb, his godlike radiance now cast into murky shadow, as batlike, he clings to the wall of the church basement, still trembling with rage, his eyes blazing red, and his face contorted in bestial vengeance. Here, as elsewhere in "Tainted Love," we see the merging and clashing of the sacred and the demonic, as the church becomes a haven of darkness and the priest and vampire are united in one psyche.
