With the band gone, Alison's snotty self-assurance fades.  Left alone with Caleb, she feels vulnerable yet she tries to conceal her unease with a show of her trademark spunkiness.  "So, look, Caleb," she announces in a tone more hesitant than she intends.  "I'm going to need a schedule or a list of . . ."

"When I'm going to kill all the models and burn the gym down?" Caleb quips, then becoming more serious, asks her if she could just "stop" her antagonizing stance.  Warning her that "it wouldn't be a good idea to get in between" him and Rafe, he urges her to avoid interfering with the plan he and Rafe agreed upon.

"Don't you think I know that, Caleb?" she retorts, her expression frustrated, worried.  "Look, I don't even like this.  I don't want to be doing this.  Do you want to know, if I had the ring right now, do you want to know what I'd wish for?"

"World peace?  The end of hunger?" he gibes.

"Look, it's not funny.  Give me a break," she scolds.  "Haven't you ever just constantly worried about something?  I mean, have you?  Do you know what it's like just waiting for the other shoe to drop?"

"Alison, I'm not going to ruin your little fashion show," he condescendingly assures her.  "I would never hurt you."

"And Rafe?" she probes.

"Well, Rafe and I will always be enemies.  . . . I can't kill him, you know," he grimaces in disappointment.  "That's about all the peace of mind I can give you.  Now, what time would you like us there?"

Before she can decide upon the band's arrival time, Alison, fumbling with a glass of soda, accidentally spills it onto her shirt.

Taking the now-empty glass, Caleb hands her a towel and tells her she can borrow some dry clothes from the bedroom.

"Are you kidding me?  That old line?" Alison snarls ungratefully, as if accusing him of trying to seduce her even though it was she that spilled the drink.

"Stay wet then, all right?" Caleb grumbles.  "It makes no difference to me."
